[SAM Art Dose - Drop in Activity] Care Index: Sensory Space

Sensory play is a great way to engage and develop your senses. In this sensory space, you can experiment with a range of different materials such as soft fabrics, yarn, beads, which have varied textures, to create your own sensory toy or object. You can calm your emotions and empty your mind by focusing on your sense of touch as you play with this object. This activity is self-directed and will feature creative prompts from the artists in Performing Normal.

Feel free to use these prompts as inspiration when you create your toy. Express and embrace yourself through this process of creation. You're welcome to spend as much time as you like in the space.

Note: An adult should accompany younger children to ensure safety when handling tools. We also encourage participants to be generous and mindful when using and sharing the materials, to foster an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy themselves. Photo credit: Alecia Neo
